Candida Diet

One of the biggest concerns that we all face relate to our health.  After all, nobody wants to get sick.  However, there are times in our lives where we have to deal with an illness.  One of the scariest diseases a person can face is candiasis, which is also known as yeast infection or thrush.  Candiasis can result in such irritable symptoms as: depression, fatigue, headache, mood swings, reduced memory, and sinus congestion.

In order to combat this disease, it is important that you go on a candida diet that will help lead you back to healthiness.  The candida diet was developed by Dr. William Crook and is designed to help individuals overcome candiasis.  Also known as the candida cleans, the Candida Diet generally takes at least four weeks to produce noticeable results.  For some individuals on the candida diet, results may take as long as months to be seen.  However, with its high success rate and its existence as a lifestyle plan, the candida diet may be the best diet to help you overcome this disease.

The candida diet works by restricting certain foods from a person’s diet.  It completely prohibits the consumption of food containing refined sugar, due to the fact that it encourages the growth of yeast.  Additionally, it prohibits the consumption of fruit that contain natural sugars.  This is especially true of citric fruits like oranges, melons, and canteloupe.

Considering the disease it is treating, the candida diet also prohibits the eating of food that contain yeast.  Such foods include baked goods raised with yeasts like breads, muffins, and bagels.  Additionally, the candida diet does not allow the consumption of food that contains gluten, including foods made with wheat, barley, and rye.  Vinegar is made with yeast and therefore it is important that you do not eat any food that contains vinegar, particularly condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise, and steak sauce, while you are on the candida diet.

Other food that the candida diet prohibits includes mushrooms and alcohol.  Additionally, peanut products should not be eaten due to their high mold contamination.  Processed and moldy cheeses are not to be eaten on the candida diet as are processed, pickled, dried and smoked beats due to their content of unhealthy nitrites.  Due to its effect on your body’s ability to cope with stress, it is important that you do not drink such beverages as coffee and black tea when you are on the candida dieet.

When you first go on the candida diet, it is important that you limit the amount of dairy products you consume.  This is directly related to the theory that Candida directly reduces your body’s ability to digest fat.  However, it is possible to include dairy products in your Candida diet after you have been on the diet for sometime.

While the candida diet may be difficult, it is important to remember that it is only a temporary diet designed to help you overcome Candida.  Make your health a priority and follow the candida diet to get back to a healthy and happy life!
