It is a well-established fact that basketball is the fastest growing sport in the world.  The biggest reason for this rising basketball popularity is the National Basketball Association (NBA), which showcases the greatest basketball talents in the world performing their amazing athletic feats on a high-profile stage.  With vigorous domestic and international marketing campaigns, the hype surrounding the NBA has increasingly escalated, converting legions of peoples into certified hoops junkies, and in the process promoting the beautiful game that is basketball.

Just a decade ago, it would be fair to say that basketball was predominantly a North American passion, but today, basketball is truly an international game.  The past 2004 Olympics serves as evidence of this, with Argentina taking the gold, Italy the silver, and the much-hyped ”Dream Team” of the United States (disappointingly) taking the bronze.   

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the premier basketball league in the world.  Founded in 1946, the NBA possesses a rich and storied history, but it is only within the last 20 years or so, that it is generating the kind of attention usually reserved for the National Football League (NFL) or Major League Baseball (MLB).  In fact, an argument can be made that the NBA is now much more publicized globally than any other American sports league…..but as a hoops fanatic you probably already know this.       

So what can I present to you, ye who (probably unhealthily) knows too much about the goings-on of the NBA.  As a hoops junkie, you have all the essential basketball websites covered; you have scoured the net to form your own database of newspaper articles covering the NBA; and yet, like me, your appetite for basketball information remain unsatisfied.  So what can this website do for you?    

It is my hope that this site will be one of the more interesting NBA sites available on the web.  Besides the inclusion of necessary generic information pertaining to NBA news, team information, schedules, standings, scores, and statistics, the bread and butter of this site will be the interesting, opinionated, controversial, and sometimes factually-challenged articles written by the fans for the fans.  The topics for these articles will be broad and varied, and will be mainly dictated by the current happenings in the NBA.  Such topics will include (but not limited to) the NBA playoffs and NBA finals, NBA draft including this years’ NBA draft 2004, NBA rumors, NBA ballers, and NBA history.
