Six Meals a Day Diet

Are you ready to make the best change in your life?  If so, come join the thousands of people who are doing the same!  More and more people are trying to find ways to make themselves healthier and look better.  For this reason, so many medical experts and nutritionists are producing diets that promise quick results in a short period of time.  Of course, a lot of these diets may be right for you.

However, are you interested in a diet that actually wants you to eat more meals in a day?  It might sound crazy, but the six meals a day diet isn’t a diet in the traditional sense.  Rather it is an eating philosophy that many nutritionists and fitness coaches feel will help you lose weight quickly, while also adding lean muscle mass just as fast.  If this sounds interesting to you, then the six meals a day diet may be the perfect diet for you.

Of course, the six meals a day diet or 3 hour diet doesn’t mean that you can gorge on fatty foods six times a day.  Rather it is a diet that is designed to help you control your eating habits by regularly supplying your food with food.  Each meal is designed to be small and full of important nutrients.  In fact, many proponents of the six meals a day diet feel that each meal should contain a ratio of 40:30:30 in terms of good carbs to lean protein to healthy fats.

By eating at regular intervals, the six meals a day diet will ensure that your body’s energy levels will be consistent throughout the day.  Proponents of the six meals a diet strongly feel that following this diet will lead to such health benefits as: controlling your body’s sugar levels, increasing your body’s energy levels, increasing your body’s lean muscle mass, less hunger throughout the day, and a reduction of your body’s fat storage.

If you are interested in undergoing the six meals a day diet, it is important that you follow this recommended diet schedule.  For breakfast, you should eat a meal at around 8:00 in the morning.  Three hours later, you should have a small snack.  At 1:00 in the afternoon, you should eat lunch.  Eating a second snack around 3:00 in the afternoon is highly suggested.  From there, dinner should be eaten three hours after your snack.  A 9:00 at night snack is the final meal of your six meals a day diet.

While there are many proponents of the six meals a day diet, there are also a number of skeptics.  Although nutritionists and health experts all agree that missing meals can cause health problems, they  are not convinced that eating six meals throughout the day effects a person’s metabolism in any way different than eating a regular three meals a day.  Additionally, nutritionists fear that the six meals a day diet can lead to overeating.  However, if you feel that you have the willpower to restrict how much you eat in each of the six meals of the six meals a day diet, you may find that this is the perfect diet for you!
