Ja Rule Arrested

Throughout its long history as the soundtrack to rebellion, hip hop artists and the police have always found themselves battling. This is particularly true in the city that gave birth to hip hop – New York City, where many rappers have complained of the presence of a hip hop police force that specifically targets rappers. On Sunday July 22, some of the most acclaimed rappers of today met their match with New York’s vigilant police force at one of the most anticipated concerts of the year. Southern rapper lil wayne was making his first notable solo appearance in New York since his ascension from teenage prodigy for the Cash Money Millionaires to one of the most exciting rappers today that can justifiably claim to be ‘the best rapper alive.’ With Lil Wayne’s appearance at Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre bringing out other hip hop stars like Kanye West, Juelz Santana, Birdman, and Ja Rule, the show began with an ominous start as New York City police threatened some of the rappers with blockades from the Beacon Theatre. However, the police were eventually appeased and the show was able to go off without a hitch. One of the biggest attractions of the lil wayne show was the expected appearance by New York city rapper ja rule.

As anybody aware of the ja rule biography can attest the rapper has gone through a series of ups and downs. Arguably the most popular rap artist just a few years ago, Ja Rule’s career has taken a number of hits over the few years due to the rise of his rival 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew. Attempting to win a rap war against the power trio of 50 Cent, Eminem, and Dr. Dre is nearly impossible and predictably Ja Rule’s career subsequently sank. As ja rule lyrics became more embittered and consumed with taking on his enemies it became harder for fans to listen ja rule songs.

However ja rule new york song was a popular hit and paved the way for a big comeback. Although the criminal case of Ja Rule’s record label, Murder Inc, meant that it would take a few years before Ja Rule could release his next record, he has greased up anticipation for his new record, The Mirror. Much like other artists, Ja Rule is planning to make a big dent on the chart by collaborating with arguably the hottest rapper today, Lil Wayne. Their collaboration, Uh Oh, has been well received and Ja was ready to make a big impression again on his hometown by performing Uh Oh with Lil Wayne and then his own hit, New York. Following the show, Lil Wayne and Ja Rule would quickly realize that their earlier run ins with the New York police was just gong to be the beginning of their night. Leaving the show after his appearance, Ja Rule and other members of his crew were stopped by the police for speeding. When their car was searched, a handgun was found and Ja Rule and two other passengers in the car were charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. A few hours later, the show’s star, Lil Wayne was also pulled over and charged with weapons possession.
