Reverend Mommy's Random Thoughts
Reverend mommy's random thoughts

I am a pastor serving in my first church in beautiful North Carolina. I created this blog so I could share thoughts, feelings, and meditations. Iíve found that I miss the intellectual stimulation of the classroom, and this is a way for me to remain engaged. I hope you find this interesting and/or edifying; I enjoy discussion, but letís keep it charitable. What you need to know: I am a pastor. Iíve only been in full-time ministry for a relatively short while, and Iím very much in my learning curve. I am in a ďmainlineĒ denomination, though my background was (unfortunately) fundamentalist. I went to seminary, but I still have many questions. I believe American Christianity is in a dangerous state. If Joel Osteen is considered a preacher, I question whether or not I want to have to same job description. Theologically, I consider myself neither conservative nor liberal, because these are political distinctions that only muddy the theological waters. I am not married, but Iím heading that way. Iím a guy, in the Brad Paisley sense of the word. I love my friends and my family. I try to love God the way I should, but itís a work in progress.

Locusts & Honey is a blog about politics and faith by a United Methodist seminarian.
