The GlassMigrations Blog by Tanya Floyd
Lampwork artist, Tanya Floyd, shares her own unique experiences creating lampwork beads, designing jewelry, personal life events, and artistic interests. Her artistic interests include: color combinations and trends, things that sparkle and bling(Swarovski Crystals, pixie dust/glitter, Cubic Zirconia), natural and manmade gemstones, and certain metal alloys. Designing jewelry is what led to Tanya's passion in creating lampwork beads. Here she could express all her creativity and imagination into one single bead. It was unique and inspiring knowing the actual beads in her jewelry designs could be made personally by her. Already she had been making her own custom fine silver(.999) charms from Precious Metal Clay(PMC), and the idea of creating her own beads was a challenge she was more then eager to learn. Needless to say, making lampwork beads immediately became her passion. Tanya's blog is her own personal guide, to reflect upon as she progresses in the world as a lampwork artist. It also can be used as an informational guide for other lampwork artists. Learning from Tanya's good experiences, and some not-so-good experiences. Hopefully, of course, learning more from the good then bad.

Farm Girl Cat Artistic Pioneer Woman Creating Her Way Through Life I am a transplanted city girl who lives on a 9 acre farm in NW Illinois. We are trying to live a simple life with our goats, horses and organic chickens. Lampworking is my passion but I love to create with many medias. Making homemade soap, fiber art, gourds, leather and metal are some of my favorites. Come by and look at my new creations. I make lampwork beads along with beautiful jewelry creations. I also love to make things out of recycled items. Junk to others are treasures to me. Jewelry and clothing have been made out of discarded items, recycling at it's best. I am very inspired by everyday items that are turned into something unique and intersting. Custom and special order are happily attempted. Lets see if I can create what you imagine. I love my life and my job and can't think of any other way to spend my time. It's important to me to be and support other independant artists. Thank you for visiting my blog and be sure to check out my etsy store - magikalglassworks. Cathie Robert

Ohio Beaders is an online group located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ohio_Beaders/ . Men and women who live in Ohio and are interested in the art of beading get together and chat online about beading techniques, bead shows, bead products and bead sales. They inspire each other to keep creating their beadwork, give each other help when someone is stuck with a project and give each other pats on the back when they complete a beading project. They also participate in challenges and gift exchanges plus attend gatherings and shop hops throughout Ohio. There is an annual weekend bead retreat held in Ohio. Our 2010 Retreat will be held in a lakefront home on Lake Erie in October. Many great friendships have developed because of meeting at Ohio Beaders. Ohio Beaders Showcase is designed to showcase the work of all Ohio Beaders. Each month new photos of their work will be displayed along with information on how to contact the artist and each month the beading theme changes. Relax, enjoy and invite others to see the many talents of Ohio Beaders.
