Thy Daily Bread is a newly created but rapidly growing Roman Catholic on-line internet faith community forum. We are obedient to the Majesterium of the Catholic Church, and thus, promoting anything that conflicts with or opposes the Catechism will be removed.
I created Thy Daily Bread the night before I left on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje this past September.Unlike many Catholic discussion forums we allow discussion about Medjugorje and other purported apparitions as long as they are not condemned by the Church, such as the purported apparitions at Naju, Korea, Christina Gallagher, or Bayside New York. The reason Medjugorje is permitted is because contrary to what has seemingly become popular belief over the past few years, Medjugorje has not been condemned by the Vatican and faithful Catholic pilgrims are indeed free to express their belief in Our Lady's purported appearance there. In 2006, the Vatican set up a commission to investigate Medjugorje, which is still in it's ongoing stages, and requested that the Bishop of Mostar who under normal circumstances would be charged with the authority to oversee and judge the apparitions, requested that he remain silent henceforth about his personal opinions concerning the validity of the purported apparitions allowing the commission to freely and unbiasedly investigate. So far he has failed to obey his own superiors. Though priest's are discouraged from 'leading' pilgrim groups, as it stands today, any faithful Catholic including priests who want to go to Medjugorje and choose to believe that it is Our Lady appearing there can freely do so.
