Boyfriend of Steel is a “side story” from NGE, starting from around Episode 16. In this fan fiction, the Americans reveal a secret pilot program and soon afterwards, EVA-03 and 04, with their pilots, are both brought over to Tokyo-3 for training. Once in Japan, the American pilot of EVA-04 falls head over heels for a bewildered Rei. Comedy, Action, and Intrigue ensue.
