Bella Donna We are dedicated to educating the public on the role of women in the Renaissance through explocommunity the lives and accomplishments of the Venetian Courtesans of the 16th century.
We sing in Italian, French and English, create improvisational street theatre, read poetry of Italian women of the Renaissance, and educate the public about the lives of courtesans and women in the 16th century.
We began performing at local San Francisco Bay Area Renaissance Faires in 2003. The group initially participated in the Heart of the Forest Renaissance Faire in Novato, California www.forestfaire.com, and we make appearances at other Faires in the San Francisco Bay Area, such as the Northern Californian Renaissance Faire, and the Golden Gate Faire.
Cyber Home Port for "The Ladies of the Salty Kiss" - an all female privateer crew who performs improv and staged comedy at Renaissance Faires across the mid-west.
Shillelagh Law is a Pan-Celtic Stable-Band founded in 1997. Pan-Celtic means we try to cover a range of Celtic musical traditions instead of just sticking to Irish or Scottish. Stable-Band is a play on the fact that most of the music we sing predates the term “Garage.”
We are currently an all female group made up of four performers with close to 100 years of combined musical experience. We currently perform at fairs in Missori and Kansas. We like to do a family friendly show.
