Sarah and the Goon Squad A site about my life with two year old twins. That's right. You heard me.
the notebook of a cornish, usually happily single mum of twin girls living in istanbul. i'm generally against baking unless i'm hungover and the angels demand it. into free expression with colours, mess and words. and when i'm not doing my best to earn money and raise happy confident compassionate kids i'm here trying to educate myself, pass on what i learn and change the world before bedtime.
When my twin daughters Lyli & Scarleht were born 6.1.04 some talk flew about our belfrys concerning a papa 'zine & its dire societal necessity. i had never seen one at the time & to date have found only a few. i had neither the time nor energy to set thought into action. now i feel as if i have put off the inevitable for too long. thusly, here is my small contribution to society & its ills. i hope that you fathers are healed somewhat by the material presented here & submit some of your own.
Oh, and if you were curious, a Pirate Papa is any father who struggles against those accepted and ruthlessly enforced norms on any miniscule level of the spectrum; it's any counter-culture papa caught in the mainstream who fights back against what the 'greater good' is telling them to do and forges their own path through the wilderness of fatherhood in a papaphobic sea of guilt and past mistakes; really it's any papa who cares about their kids, their partner and themselves more than what someone else thinks of their decisions and lifestyle.
