World Oil Crisis The World within 3 years will be facing its most serious crisis to its economic and political stability since World War II. World Peak Production of Crude Oil will hit in 2006 or NLT 2007. By 2007, US Gasoline will be $5/gallon and by 2008 it will be over $10/gallon. Crisis will only be overcome by utilizing 15-20% alternative fuels for transportation needs, hybrid vehicles, and higher fuel efficiency standards for new vehicles. Long term solution will involve mass production of hydrogen fuel cell cars.
