Brett was born w/HLHS 2/18/2000. He has had the Norwood, Bi-directional Glenn & Fenestrated Fontan done at Kosairs Children's Hosp.in Louisville,Kentucky. He also had 2 angioplasties & a collateral coiled. He suffered a stroke ducommunity the Fontan(May 2002) due to an air embolism to the brain. He is now in rehab therapy & is making a remarkable recovery & back to his rotten self! This site contains easy to understand illustrations of the HLHS heart & surgeries & many links for more info. Nick was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. he had three heart sugeries and was transplanted before he was two years old. Today, he is nineteen and will be going to college next fall.
