Moon Moods An on-line diary of a manic depressive, Bipolar I who is coming to terms with such a diagnosis. And other mentally unrelated crap that goes on in her life. Warning: author is prone to rants about issues that don't really matter.
My name is Meg and I am raising a child with Early Onset Bipolar Disorder. This blog is my story where I chronicle the ups and downs of my life raising a child with bipolar disorder. I tell about our daily lives as well as the medicines we use, therapies we use, issues with schools, special education and learning disabilities and some unrelated posts that are just for fun. My child is learning disabled and is in special education in public school and has been since the first grade. He has dyslexia as well as some sensory and processing issues and I discuss these as well. I provide links to the resources we access as we access them and since he is only a tween right now, we are just beginning the real journey with this diagnosis as I am told it gets really challenging in the teen years and then into adulthood where he will have control of his own therapies and medication compliance. Prior to being diagnosed as being bipolar he was diagnosed as ADHD. He may still have that diagnosis as well but we won't know for certain until we get the mood piece of his situation stabilized. Please join us in our journey as we navigate the teen years and beyond.
