Kundalini yoga is a door opened by a key of yoga. The yogi or yogini opens the door of awakening the goddess kundalini shakti who lies sleeping at the base of the spine, her luminous form coiled 3 1/2 times between the second and third chakra. When she wakes, through any number of techniques like kundalini yoga or meditation, She descends to the root chakra, is turned upward and channeled up through shusumna, the SILVER cord. She lights the chakras and strengthens them on her journey to the crown chakra. Finally the nectar drips from the thousand peddled lotus at the crown and samadhi or illumination is achieved.
