Competing Universalisms Dot Net
Competing Universalisms Dot Net is committed to explocommunity the theory of comepting universalisms, a theory that says much human conflict can be explained in terms of competition between the major "universal" belief systems such as Christianity, Islam, Marxism and Classical Liberalism. In general, universalisms are complete systems, closed models that purport to have an answer or explanation for everything, and which provide normative guidance as well, and which criticize any other universalisms for being deviationist or heretical. Think in terms of religion and ideology, and you get the idea of what "competing universalisms" is about. The site competinguniversalisms.net is hosted by CrystalTech in Phoenix, and contents are duplicated at aamidor.blogspot.com. Abraham Aamidor is a reporter at The Indianapolis Star and has taught journalism at Indiana University and Butler University; he is the author of "Real Feature Writing" (Erlbaum, 1999) and Editor of "Real Sports Reporting" (Indiana University Press, 2003), both college-level journalism texts.
