some fairly ordinary knitting from Northland, New Zealand.
The blog is primarily focussed on wool and alpaca that I spin, dye and knit myself. The alpaca fibre is from our 4 alpacas, fleeces are bought in.
Interested in very simple stitch patterns and repeatable or modular designs like blanket, afghan,and peggy squares. Intested in the found rather than the bought where possible.
Interested in the local and what happens when the local is subject to international influence. Interested in what makes knitting here in New Zealand unique and grounded or placed in the landscape (social and otherwise) here. Interestd in the idea that we are all worlds unto ourselves and that the specificity of where we live makes our knitting unique. Interested in the introverted side of knitting, reflective, home based, personal. Interested in nostalgia nad how that afffects what and how we knit.
