Jimmie Raye, Northern Soul Royalty. From Harlem Clubs of the 60’s to recording and shacommunity stages around the world with acts including Joe Tex, James Brown, Sam and Dave, King Curtis, Clyde Mcphatter, Ashford and Simpson, The Shirelles, and James Ingram. Jimmie’s music is engraved in rare vinyl history with Tuff, Scepter, KKC, Asante, Kent, Ace, Garrison and more. His story is "The Soul Thing" an NBC TV show that he produced, a song and title from his 1976 LP and now a book he is currently writing. He will tour 2004-2005. Jimmie Raye will be one of the 40 Northern Soul Artists at the Classic Soul Festival, Los Angeles, March 13-14th, 2004. You may remember his classic Wigan Casino dance stomper "Philly Dog Around the World."
