Set in the real world in the not to distant future, Warpol is a game of conquest in which players take control of a real world nation and through the use of both political and military assets try to become a world super power and rule the entire globe. In order to sustain and develop your authority it will be necessary to trade, research, build, conquer and control yours and other nations you conquer with all the tools at your disposal. {;}Your national population are hopelessly devoted to your regime, its ideals and future plans, and they will follow your every command faithfully. They believe you are their god, their ultimate leader, and are devoted to you, believing every word you utter. They are the backbone of your nation whatever path you choose to lead them down. {;}{;}As the nations leader, it is you who decides your international friends and foes. Allegiance to the better-equipped and more powerful nations allows you in turn to become more powerful; gaining more wealth and resources than you ever would on your own. But with friendship there will come a time where loyalty goes out of the window, treachery and betrayal becomes rife, and your once powerful allies become your adversary's. {;}{;}Too much power also bcommunitys with it hatred and jealousy. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies even closer, and remember that your enemy's enemy is also your friend. Political management, financial rewards and lucrative arms and trade agreements will keep most nations sweet and possibly swing them in your favour, but there is no match for military might when a nation does not want to play ball or decides to invade or attack you. {;}{;}You make all the decisions, which will take you to glory or defeat: How would you make your nation a super power? Turn your economy/resource production around? Turn your country into a feared and brutal regime across the globe while keeping national tension low? Keep international peace while propelling your own interests? Play By Mail Games Play By Mail or PBM games are conducted over the Internet via email. Each player sends in their latest turn information to the game moderator whose job is to determine the results of each turn based upon the requested actions by the players.
