Somewhere on A1A...
General current events blog, emphasizing the middle east{;}

I was raised in Lakeland for most of my years. I spent most of my boyhood camping in various parts of Florida from the canals of the Suwannee River to the back bays of Pine Island. I consider myself a tried and true Floridian. I’ve done quite a bit of stuff in Florida like mullet fished with a hand made linen net, did anything you can think of with an orange, drank muscadine wine, kite boarded on the Atlantic, swam in the Keys, camped on Cape San Blas, smoked cigars in Ybor, drank home made sugar cane juice, ate great bbq at trails all around the Sunshine State, and sucked the fire out of some boiled peanuts. So what you'll find on this blog pertains to Florida and the South. It deals with culture, history, and other odds and ends that make Florida and the South unique and original. Have you ever seen the sun rise over Manatee Springs? Or seen mosquitoes thick enough to choke a person? Or seen enough mullet on a sandy bottom to make it look black. These and others facets of Florida are only a sample of the menu on Suwannee Refugee.
