  • Went on a charter with these guys in mid June 2009. All we did was chunk with clams and herring anchored just outside of Gloucester Harbor. Had that worked, we would have been satisfied. But the fish weren't cooperating and the captain had absolutely no plan B. No gear on the boat for trolling, no thoughts of fishing over structure, and no idea of where we might find fish. The boat provided Penn spincast combo's and boatrods with Penn Senators about half and half to us. I understand and expect that on the big party boats the gear is well used and abused, but on a private charter the reels should be maintained and oiled (my reel squeaked), the spools were on average about half full with line that I'm reasonably certain was not changed from last year. My hook was rusty and dull. Nice boat, unfotunately the captain has not done his homework and should not be in this business until he becomes a better fisherman.
