Walking with Elephants Walking with Elephants is the tale of a frazzled wife and working mother, Suze Hall, who realizes that even though we make our own reality, it is shaped by how we handle the coincidences in our life. One thing is certain, even though the Women's Movement gave women more choices, we can't do it all and do it all well. Suze (pronounced Sooze) Hall doesn't have the BIG career, doesn't have her youth, and doesn't have the guts to assert change. What she does have is a husband who expects her to continue the homemaker role she established when raising their three kids and to keep that paycheck coming. As a late-in-life entry to the workforce, Suze feels thwarted in her attempts to move up in her career. Her experiences working with women have been fraught with political intrigue and she remains wary of them. Suze is sleep racing through her life when change is thrust upon her in a synchronous manner. Her company, a direct-mail publisher, has been bought and her nemesis, Wanda Walsh, has been promoted and now will be her boss. Added to that, her husband, Bob, a college professor, has accepted a sabbatical assignment in Sydney, Australia and he will be gone for six months. But complications pile on when David, her first love who broke her heart, pops back into her life—what's a woman to do?
