Center on Human Policy The Center on Human Policy (CHP) is a Syracuse University based policy, research, and advocacy organization involved in the national movement to insure the rights of people with disabilities.
Onecandream is dedicated to empowerment, advocacy and truth. We are an independently funded website with many features including an interactive community that includes a forun. Please come join our community.
We just recently started our own book club as well, so if you would like to participate then please come visit us.
We believe that all people are important and have something to contribute to society whether they have a disability or not.
Life can be discouraging when your struggling to make ends meet, or to get your voice heard. Sometimes, it is safer not to dream because those who dare to dream and then act on those dreams risk getting hurt.... and sometimes we have been hurt so much we forget how to dream, or even why anyone would bother. Yet our dreams give us vision of what could be, or what might be...They give us directions on what to strive for, and provide us with hope when the odds are stacked against us. But most importantly, dreams are the foundation on which reality gets built.
As a doctoral student I am studying myself [within the larger context of culture] and the myriad of issues surrounding my previous Spinal Cord Injury and its subsequent fallout....I am specifically interested in interpreting the primacy of the visual / material and explorations into memory etc.
