Fiber Artist
Sewing has always been a passion of mine. My early years were clothing construction, but I was introduced to the world of quilts and that changed! Clothing construction seemed to frustrate me a bit, so when I was introduced to quilting and the variety of quilts, well, I was a goner. I started out with traditional piecing and then fell in love with Art Quilts, batiks, hand painted and hand dyed fabrics and fibers. So now I spend my time painting, dying and creating unique Art Quilts from pictures I take and drawings that I find and/or draw myself. I’m even stepping out a little further and adding Mixed Media to my quilts! On my Blog I talk about the projects I am working on, the workshops I attend, my fellow artists, my grandchildren and books that I am using to learn new processes. So come along with me and follow my blog, enjoy my journey through fiber! I also have a studio on ArtFire http://www.artfire.com/users/studiojules where I sell my hand painted/dyed fabrics, along with small Art Quilts that I create. Also listed in Studio Jules are commercial fabrics that I have loved having in my stash, but am no longer going to use, so I am passing them on to the public as discounted prices! So come shop with me and also take a look at the notions and other items.

I have been sewing since I was a young child and making my own clothes. Along with home decorating and upholstery I began to quilt and embroider. So much fun and it is hard to stop the process once you get going. And for the last 10 years I have been able to add quilting and embroidery to my creativity. And over the years I have learned about styles, technique, history and culture from quilting. My site is to highlight all the artists, artisans, dollmakers and crafters that I admire as well as their work. Most especially I highlight the diversity of minority artists and hope that I will learn of many others by submission. Not that my work is comprable in any way I will also be posting my work and the trials and tribulations that my work can be for me. Most importantly I would like others to appreciate the arts, crafts and talents of all the people who have inspired me. I expect to enjoy the journey of my experience as a writer which is also new for me. I hope that I will not have too many typos. :)

A 40-something woman talks about art quilting, the creative process, life as a quilter, lawyer, mom, wife, and generally thoughtful person.

Artful Quilters Blog Community
This community is for quilt artists whose focus is making contemporary, innovative, non-traditional, and/or experimental quilts to share their blogs, exchange thoughts about the process of art quilting, and share other bits of life that swirl around quilt making. While we enjoy and admire more traditional quilts, this community is not intended for blogs that focus on traditional quilting.
