chiacchierinomakuok Tatting.... and not only tatting.....
Venite a trovarmi! E buon chiacchierino a tutte!!!
Completely addicted to tatting - both shuttle and needle! My blog contains information about my journey of learning how to tat. Originally, I started with a shuttle (October 2008) but I have since taught myself to tat using a needle. Since I didn't know anyone who knew how to tat, I bought a book and a DVD and with the help of other online tatters, I taught myself how to shuttle tat. I want to share my thoughts and ideas about tatting with other bloggers. Since I love to sew and quilt I will incorporate tatting, sewing and quilting together to create unique gifts and other projects. Because of all the information regarding tatting on the internet, including so many blogs, I have been able to learn how to do this beautiful craft and I want to share my results with others. There are many ways to share tatting information on the internet; blogs, forums, boards, Etsy shops, online shopping, and more. Many tatters have shared their thoughts, ideas, patterns, and photographs of their work so that we all might learn and enjoy the art of tatting.
This is a site to show and promote the art of tatting. A shuttle made lace enjoying a new horizon via the internet. Places such as InTatters and various forums devoted to the craft have allowed tatters from all over the world to come together and share their passion for this old lace form. The site above is a place to showcase my own interpretations of the craft and hopefully encourage others to give it a go.
Students of the craft can now log into so many different and varying media to see exactly how things are put together and learn new and exciting techniques. With the advent of the internet - students in remote locations - previously restricted to learning from books or from others whenever possible - can now simply connect and have a virtual teacher right there in front of them anytime they need it.
Exciting times for this age old craft.
Simple in its formation and inexpensive to commence - the potential is limitless and no special outlays are required. A minimum of a shuttle, hook and thread will get you started.
Your imagination can take you so much further!
