Creative Textile & Quilting Arts On my website you can find free techniques, tips and tutorials, as well as free articles and other information relating to textile and quilt art and lots of free stuff. I also have various downloadable workshops and mini-classes where you can learn new and fun techniques.
On my sister site - The Free Lunch Cafe - I provide free monthly mini-classes in a community atmosphere where members can learn fun new art quilting techniques and interact with each other.
I work mainly with free motion embroidery and free motion quilting, machine needle felting, embellishing including making my own embellishments and working with traditional embellishments such as beading, as well as various types of image transfer and in particular my latest obsession - Golden Products Digital Grounds. I have a whole new section on my website dedicated to my experiments with Digital Grounds with lots more to come. It's an exciting and fascinating new area of image transfer.
I love to experiment and share my findings both on my blog and in my workshops and classes so you'll find lots of information on my website.

I am an award winning quilt artist whose work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and has won many prizes; most recently my quilt Tod und Leben won the Computer Design Prize at the National Quilt Championships, Sandown, June 2009. In September 2008 the same quilt won the Best Hand Workmanship prize (Innovative section) at the World Quilt and Textile show, Manchester, NH, USA and in August 2007 my quilt Waves of Anger won this same prize at the same event. My wallhanging Foxfires won the European Quilt Championships, Oct. 2006 and my quilt Waterrings won the Scottish Quilt Championships in 1998 I've also become known for my ATCs and mixed media work, winning Best of Show for my Enduring, Unending ATC in the House of Cards exhition, Columbus, Ohio, 2005. My mixed media work has been published in Craft Stamper, ARTspeciallyforYou ,Quilting Arts,Somerset Studio, Somerset Gallery and Sew Somerset as well as Stitch, Classic Stitches, Popular Patchwork, Patchwork & Quilting and Fabrications, My quilts have also been featured in a variety of books.
