Freelance Technical Writing in Israel I have been working as a freelance technical writer and project manager in Israel for more than 10 years. During this time I personally produced hundreds of documents for a range of companies and also managed more than 500 projects.
I started the blog to share my experiences with people who are freelance tech writers, considering becoming freelance tech writers or are interested in hiring a freelance technical writer.
I think that most of the material in the blog would be relevant for freelance technical writers worldwide and not just in Israel. However, that being said, the situation for freelance technical writers in Israel is unique. Israel contains a very highly developed high tech sector. Many of these high-tech firms are start-ups or small established companies. In most cases these companies don't have enough work to keep a salaried writer busy full-time, so they turn to outsourcing. In addition, geographically, the vast majority of these companies are within a two hour drive of each other, a fact that makes tele-commuting much easier.
