Growing In Godliness Growing in Godliness is a site where we seek to glorify God through writing...devotions, bible study and encouragement straight from God's Word. Growing in Godliness is a place where YOU will be encouraged and sharpened to grow in your walk with Jesus. Mariel has a heart and a passion to see women grow in their walk with Jesus. She is a homeschooling mom with a gift and passion for teaching the Word of God first and foremost to her children and then, as God opens doors, to other women. She is inspirational and Biblically accurate in her teaching, seeking always to glorify the Lord above all else. She is the author of Bible studies, magazine articles and has contributed to sites such as CBN.com, Christian Magazine Online and Proverbs 31 Magazine. She sharpens her passion for writing through her blog and desires to use it to cause others to see and thus glorify her Heavenly Father (Matthew 5:16). Just as the flesh needs food and water, our soul must be fed by the word of God daily. At Food for the Soul, we enjoy time around His table, together! Explore scripture as it applies to daily life. Share refining stories and come together and praise Him for His promises and His provisions.
James 4:8 says "Draw near to me and I will draw near to you". Think about the time you come to the dinner table and grow in relationship with your family and friends. God is calling us to His table so we can grow in fellowship with Him. And just as our physical body is more likely to grab 'junk food' when we miss a meal, so too our soul is more likely to be filled with the junk of this world if we don't take time to fill it with God's word daily.
As we feed our soul with His good word, we will develope a craving for more. My prayer is that my craving will never be quenched by anything but His living word. And as I continue to feed it with healthy portions of prayer, study and praise I know that my relationship with Christ will grow stronger and healthier one day at a time.
This blog is titled 'Thoughts about love'. It is written by Carla Victoria Wallace, author of 'Love Never Fails', an inspirational fiction novel.
