I have been quilting since I was seventeen, and I love everything about it.
Over the years I have made 100's of Quilts, mainly for friends and family. Which I can say was a feat in itself, as I was raising three boys during this time period.
About a year ago, I had to put away my quilting, because I have acquired essential tremors which causes my hands to shake uncontrollably. So I decided to design patterns, and I now put my love and knowledge in my patterns.
I started this website in September 2009, in order to help others. I am basing it on the pay it forward concept I seen in the movie. I want to give to others, especially now, with the economy so messed up. You can help me, help others, through your pattern purchases. 10% of every pattern sold goes to charity. I hope you enjoy my website and my patterns.
Quilting from needle turn Applique
to Improv quilts. Currently learning
how to dye and paint fabric which
will be incorporated into my quilts
and crafts. I am a member of a Quilting
Guild in my area and also helped
organize a Quilt History Group here.
Originally from Long Island, New York
and now living in beautiful Lancaster
County, Pennsylvania.
I am not from a Quilt Family so I
took my first lesson when I moved
here - which was needle turned applique
which I love. There is plenty of
inspiration here in Lancaster County
between the Amish quilts and Mennonites.
Also the Landscape is so different from
that of Long Island where you are surround
by the Atlantic Ocean. Here there are
wonderful hills and valleys - beautiful
scenic views and of course there is
some water - the Susquehanna River.
Discovering Improv Quilting was such
a delight for me. I love piecing intuitively
and you never know what your imagination
will come up with. I am a fan of
Nancy Crow - who "is a pioneer of the modern art quilt movement."
Once upon a time, there was a girl who LOVED quilts from the time she was a little girl.
But life happened, and that girl went to college...and then, went to medical school, graduated, and then started traveling all over the mid-west working short-term jobs. She loved her life, but there was no way to indulge in her love of quilts because she was living out of her car!
After a while, she met her hubby and settled down in North Dakota. She still loved quilts, but she was commuting 160 miles round-trip to work, so there wasn't a lot of time to sew. Finally, she rented a house close to work, so she lived in two houses. She and her hubby proceeded to have four children in rapid succession and life was REALLY hectic.
During those years, she kept buying fabric because she kept thinking that ONE DAY...
Well...one day FINALLY happened.
Now, that girl lives at home with her four wonderful children. Now, even though life is hectic, that girl has time to quilt. Now, that girl has MOUNDS and MOUNDS and MOUNDS of fabric.
I'm starting this blog to chronicle my attempts at busting my stash. Follow me, and see how I do!

Quilting for Fun This community is for bloggers who quilt for pleasure. We make quilts because we want to. We follow patterns, or not. We use our stash, or buy new fabric. We do this because we love quilting and fabric and we want to show our passion to the world! Currently I will only be allowing original Q4P members to join in order to control the size of the community.
