Unreal Tomorrow Currently located in the Netherlands, this is a blog of a couple, writing about things in their life.
-------------------------------------------------
We like to travel and experience new things, see places and meet new people.
-------------------------------------------------
We write about culture, cultural differences, places we visit and life in general. You will find book and movie recommendations, pictures of beautiful locations we have visited, links to different patterns and interesting sites.
--------------------------------------------------
Crochet part is concentrated on lace crochet as well as as accessories and very primitive knitting experimentation. As soon as I will bring my dear sewing machine from behind the seas, there will also be very primitive sewing experimentation.
--------------------------------------------------
Different places and cultures bring different perspective to our life views. This is reflected in the photography art work you will find in the blog.
Several crochet patterns with detailed instructions. I see that the descriptions has to be over 1000 characters. So here's a rambling addition to the description:
I was taught to knit by first my aunt Ila when we were visiting relatives back in Iowa way back when I was around 10 years old. She taught me how to crochet a spiral potholder. I learned most of my crocheting from my Grandmother who lived near us in the Springs and the WorkBasket magazine patterns she shared with me. Neither my sister nor my mother knew how to crochet. But, my crocheting was put to good use crocheting on edgings for pillow slips.
I picked up knitting when my children were about the same age as I was when I started crocheting. It was through a knitting group that I was asked to do a series of articles on crocheting (for the Bits and Bobs, the Blog, blog) from a knitter's perspective. Several posts to this blog are taken from the content I added to the Bits and Bobs, the Blog, blog.
And I see that with this sentence I have reached the 1000 character minimum!!!
The mad ramblings of a knit/spin/crochet/sewing obsessed woman in her 30's....(well, nearly 40 but don't tell anyone...)
Inspired by the 1950's, updated for the noughties...bringing style to the stitch....colour to the home...
From American and japanese street inspired pop art to yarn and crochet hook...I love the colours of american diners, gumballs, faded metal road signs, japanese toys, neon lights in Tokyo, the effects of colour and how it can be formed, manipulated and created in yarn....
I was taught to crochet in particular by my grandmother in-law, forced to concentrate using old fashioned boot camp techniques of mind control...but the meassage stuck and I'm forever grateful! I now crochet everything from blankets to hot water bottle covers in every colour under the sun...As a designer with a professional design backround, I want to help keep the craft alive and thriving with an upbeat positive edge of style for the contemporary home....In my blog, i share many thoughts, free patterns, mad ramblings, and hope you'll join my world....
