Pastor's Wife/Mother of 2 Talking about everyday things that happen on the journey of life. Things learned with all the places I have been in ministry and also from my children or other things. I hope this encourages others on their journey of life.Jewels are those things gleaned when challenges come our way or lessons learned going through trials or cute things your children do. We are always learning everyday we live and we should never let a day go by that we don't take something with us from it. Nuggets we get from others is also the jewels in our lives. Treasured friendships, trips with families, a beautiful sunset or leaves changing or flowers in the spring are all things that add to our lives every day that we live. I believe when we learn to enjoy the simple things that come in our everyday life and make the most of every event in our lives then that is where true joy in the Lord comes from. Jewels are treasures in our heart that we guard and tuck away and build upon with the journey ahead of us. So I pray this blog will lift folks up and bless them.
This is the primary blog for the Brown family, Assemblies of God missionaries to Thailand. Their ministry, The Vital Message, is focused on working with the Thai Assemblies of God fellowship of churches and missionaries to reach the Thai people with the good news.
About The Brown Family
Wayne, Tammy, and Rebecca Brown have completed one term of ministry with Assemblies of God World Missions. Commissioned in November 2004, the Brown family itinerated in the Peninsular Florida district for 13 months, during which time they moved from Lakeland to Fort Lauderdale and began their work with OneHope (formerly known as Book of Hope). The Browns have three children: Ryan, Amanda, and Rebecca. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2009.
Prior to entering missions, the Browns were foster parents to more than 60 children over a 19-year period. They worked in both conventional foster care as well as special needs foster care. Many of the children the Browns cared for were seriously ill or disabled due to drug and alcohol abuse by their mothers. The Browns were able to use their work as foster parents as a ministry of love and instruction for these young mothers and their children.
Wayne and Tammy both hold ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. Both enjoy preaching the Word and are effective communicators of their ministry vision and the gospel.
Pastor Alan Kern writes daily devotionals and has completed a fiction christian book called:"When Elephants Fight" This book is based on his 8 years experience with his family in the Zwide township of Port Elizebeth, South Africa. Pastor Kern also wrote a series of daily devotionals called; "The "Promised Land" These devotionals were written over the same 2 year period when Pastor Kern and his family were recovering from spiritual abuse and in a transition from 30 years in the abusive organization into covering of The Assemblies of God. Alan is grateful for the covering and kindness of District leader Steve Harris. He was ordained by the Arizona District based on 20 years life experience as missionary and founding Pastor of 4 churches in Canada and South Africa. The book is to be released soon and can be purchased on the web or at lulu.com. New devotionals based on the next phase of his walk will begin in January 2010.
Other sound references for Pastor Kern and his family are; Bill Randles and Dave Hunt.
