Squid Thoughts A collection of musings from a patriotic former US Navy nuke.
I generally have a lot of fluffernutter in my head and I've found that blogging tends to clear it out. I'm always thinking about our troops, the events leading up to and after September 11, 2001, my time in the Navy, the places I've travelled, and a lot of other pretty random things.
I get a lot of inspiration from courageous bloggers like the people at Blackfive, Boston Maggie, and Major's Perspective. They help keep me sane, centered, and thinking.
I truly believe that if nothing ever changes then nothing ever changes. The best people I've known in my life are the ones who ask questions and stimulate debate.
I hope that people reading my blog get some enjoyment out of it, and if I can stimulate just one person to think about something they hadn't thought of before then I'll be doing pretty well I think.

Owned and operated by me, Dacker, a former combat arms Soldier. I spent years in private industry before joining up after 9/11, and fully intended to return to civilian life after my time was up. That gave me an interesting perspective during my time in the Army and Iraq ... and the power to be a smartass junior officer who took care of Soldiers without worrying about a career. I'm back in civilian life now and eager to share my thoughts and opinions on things affecting service members, and to hear yours.
