beadacious 1221 meanderings of the beadfuddled I am a wearable art designer from Tucson, Arizona on ARTFIRE, etsy, 1000markets and any other site that will have me. I blog about mine and other artists projects, ideas and products.
I am also an extreme cat lover and fanatic grandma to grandchildren 2200 miles away so I will blog on those things occasionally also.
As a child I always wanted to work with my hands...by age 18 I was crocheting and at age 20 I taught myself to knit while living in Alaska. Since then I have dabbled in many crafts and arts until finally settling on my favorite which was beadwork.
Thanks to fabulous friend and mentor, Theresa Flores Geary,Phd...I was kinda forced into learning to bead 17 years ago as therapy.I am a disabled single woman, nearly 60 years old and my art is my only enjoyment and outside income. Theresa has authored 3 superb books about beading and beadwork. She included photographs of my completed projects in two of her books which really motivated me on my journey. I have taught beadwork, bead crochet and bead knitting for 15 years and thoroughly enjoyed that experience.
Now that I am sole live-in caregiver to my ailing 90 year old mother, I am very much confined to the house and the internet and internet selling is my audience and my customers are there. My computer savvy is slowly improving.
This blog journals my life as a jewelry artisan. I was previously a lot of things until I come to discover the wonders of handmade jewelries. I would shop for gemstones all day long and go gaga over colours and sparkles. Currently, I have studios at Etsy, ArtFire and RunRave.
Feronia Jewelry is classy, appeals to people with discerning taste for luxury. Following the glamorous route in fashion, Feronia differentiates with an unexpected twist. Because it's not enough to be beautiful. You have to be UNIQUE to discover your Goddess within.
Lately, my brain juices became really non-existent. Ideas seem to have dried up and I lamented on my sales in the Etsy store. Really fed up with the rate my brain was working, I went out to the nearby Mac to have breakfast while reading some reference stuffs. Then I bumped into a customer who has long been an ardent supporter. She was wearing one of those white fluffy earrings I created earlier this year. It was beautiful. Serious, I am not praising myself. It was like a moment of "Wow, did I do that?" Suddenly, I felt pumped up again.
Blog for Meri Greenleaf of Elfling Creations; mostly art-related posts and updates about what I'm creating, but also some random things like book reviews and features/interviews with other artists. I'm constantly updating my blog and trying to come up with new and interesting posts. What can I say, I have a BA in English; I may as well make use of that degree. ;)
I'm a fantasy artist who works in lots of different mediums including crochet, polymer clay, beads, wire, hemp, paint, and fabric. My main creations are jewelry (mostly chainmaille, chain earrings, and hemp), polymer clay runestones, dreamcatchers, crocheted art dolls/plushies, dread/hairfalls, and costume accessories like horns, ears, corsets/cinchers, gloves, and bracers. However, I'm always coming up with new ideas for things to make. :)
My inspirations come from fantasy and literature (some of my favorite ideas have been inspired by Shakespeare and "Lord of the Rings"), as well as nature, especially late spring and summer.
