Merlien Institute - Organiser of Qualitative Research Conferences Merlien Institute is a membership organisation dedicated to providing timely and critical information to the qualitative research community. Since 2006, we have hosted a number of highly focused and interactive meetings around the world. Our goal is to create valuable platforms for qualitative researchers to brainstorm new ideas, learn best practices and network with peers. Our members span from researchers and scientists from academic institutions, think-tanks, businesses as well as non-profit organisations.
Topic generation is crucial for Merlien's events. Key topics are first generated by interviewing experts in the field. Therafter, a call for contribution is published on Merlien's website based on these initial ideas. Submitted abstracts are subsequently reviewed by our advisory scientific committee to ensure that proposed presentations meet the required standards. Contributions that do not meet the required standards and relevance are rejected by our reviewers.
Merlien Institute organises small, single stream and focused group meetings with a maximum of 60 delegates. The success of our 'small group' events are largely the efforts to maximise interaction among participants. The goal is to inspire and encourage the development of ideas and knowledge during the meetings. Compared to large conferences, a lot of work can be done at small meetings as participants get to know each other well and networking becomes more meaningful. Our meetings often results in paper and project collaborations among participants.
