Lots has happened to me while sitting at the kitchen table -- report cards approved, allowance paid out, acceptances from universities poured over, wedding plans planned then called off, travel brochures, photos and souvenirs pulled out then put away. More card games than I can hope to remember, and more games of Trivial Pursuit than I care to admit. And then there are the shared meals with friends, the wine and the laughter. The kitchen table (and its close relative -- the coffeeshop table) is also the place where I feel most creative, where words sizzle in my head like garlic in hot oil. They sputter and splatter and leave little grease stains on the page. So pull up a chair, sit and join me. There may even be a glass of wine in it for you.
First time mom, wife, house wife - not loving the role of stay at home mom but getting on with it and sometimes finding humor in it too.
