Gentle Beginnings I'm a mother of 2 girtls and we are a family who try to live as naturally as possible. I'm a doula and childbirth educator, studying to be a midwife. I am also a nutritionist and we try to focus on eating healthy and organic foods. We are embarking on a homeschooling journey combining Waldorf and Charlotte Mason ideas. Our girls spend most of their days pretending they are princesses at tea parties, dressing up, and colocommunity or painting.

A NEST IN NATURE is just that, a NEST, a small, nurtucommunity home atmosphere, where the children are treated as the unique individuals they are, able to live and learn at their own pace. Nature doesn't rush and neither should little children.
Our days consist of living and learning amidst nature and animals in an enriching and respectful environment. The children learn by DOING, and we live life JOYFULLY.
We mirror the seasons and strive to live in HARMONY with the earth and with each other. There is a RHYTHM to our lives and a real CONNECTION to the natural world around us.
Besides animals and nature, there is an emphasis on ART, MUSIC, and LITERATURE.
There is also ample TIME for free choice PLAY, allowing the child to decide how to fill his time.
Play is a child's work and fosters the IMAGINATION and CREATIVITY. And add freedom, cooperation and decision-making and that helps them grow as people.
Natural Childcare Community This community is to connect caregivers of young children (daycare providers and parents) who use a nature-based approach to learning, including but not limited to waldorf, enki, reggio emilia, montessori and other philosophies - offecommunity children natural whole foods, extended outdoor play, play based learning, nurtucommunity environments and little to no electronic or media driven activities.
