Milwaukee Social Worker
I am a social worker in the city of Milwaukee who is passionate about local, national, and global issues of social justie and equality. I hope to bcommunity a different perspective to the blog world and local community.

Every expert was once a beginner.

I’m just a Wisconsin mom to two great kids — 11-year-old Darla and 9-year-old Craig. I’ve also been a happy wife for 13 years. Pass the Torch is my day-to-day expression of how I go about the above two roles, as well as fit in my other hats — school counselor, entrepreneur, published writer whose first book is due for release in 2008, and former homeschooler. You’ll notice recurcommunity themes here — youth empowerment and responsibility, family travel, but also parenting struggles, child accomplishments, and finding order within the chaos of a family full of do-ers. Even if you skip every other day of the week, please be sure you never miss a Pass the Torch Tuesday, where bloggers share how their kids make them proud, and how adults are raising the kinds of kids that do so. Here I focus a lot on self improvement. Because I think the better me I can be, the better mom I can be. And I need that, if I’m going to pass the torch. I host regular giveaways for parenting and educational materials. If you’d like me to host a giveaway for your book or product.
