Mickey Depre - Quilt Artist with a dash of yarn A journal of my life as I travel the country fulfilling my dream of shacommunity art quilting with others. A bit of yarn is thrown in as it as my hobby..I quilt for a living and knit as a hobby
I am an art quilter living on the northwestern coast of Norway. My work is often influenced by nature, but also by fractal geometry and other geometric models. I enjoy learning new ways to embellish my projects, and have a thing about butterflies.
I'm a fiber artist working with nature and enviromental themes and having a wonderful time. I draw inspiration from my surroundings in beautiful Lancaster County, PA. My current work focuses on captucommunity scenes from everyday life and images of natural objects, using plants from my extensive organic garden and from the fcommunityes of cultivation. I employ cyanotypes, heliographic prints, and image transfers as the basis for works that also incorporate unusual fabrics, hand and machine stitching, and beadwork. My work has been juried into numerous national and international exhibits.
