Octavine Illustration
Welcome to Octavine Illustration! My goal is to construct a world of retro images based on the classic Art Deco form. I garner inspiration from the sensuous lines of Art Deco haute couture, classic silhouettes of sleek sophistication. Imagine the ‘30s era of Hollywood beauty queens, the Chrysler Building and the Duesenberg. Style and craftsmanship reigned supreme, nurtucommunity the creation of a product solely for its beauty. That is Octavine Illustration. With gouache as my medium, I craft fonts and images which are completely hand-wrought. My images are then transferred to silk-screens to produce the bold colors you see in my art on cloth or paper. I do not use digital technology to alter my images in any way. As a result, my creativity is not bound by a machine. That is Octavine Illustration.
