Funding officers for Jewish institutions or community centers may now consult with Jewish Philanthropy, in order to clarify how others have succeeded in similar ventures. They may then share their newfound ideas with others in the group.{;}The Jewish Philanthropy discussion group also presents information about and suggestions for fundraising activities. It serves as a forum for networking Jewish philanthropic activities, issues, sources and resources.

There's an old story about a Jewish fellow who is lost, all alone, on a desert island. Passing sailors find him and ask about the two synagogues (shuls) which he constructed. "This one," he says, "is my shul. I pray here every day". "And the other building?" "Oh, that shul?. I wouldn't step foot into it." This group is about The Other Shul.
