Entering the terms “Model T Fords for sale” in any popular Search Engine such as Google, Yahoo, MSN or others, will bring no less than a million results. Paradoxically, a hundred years have passed since the first Ford Model T appeared in the United Sates. Today, I'm going to tell you about the car which not only started the automobile revolution in America, but most importantly, laid the foundations of modern industrial production in the twentieth century.
It was in Detroit, Michigan, at the Piquette Plant where the first Model T came out of the production line on 1908, and it was released for sale on October 1st, its price was only $ 825, far lower than the other vehicles of those days market.
Although Model T Fords were rather modest compared with its contemporaries, its creator and founder of the Ford Motors Company, Henry Ford, impressed big ambitions in its concept. He conceived the Ford Model T as the true "universal car" in an attempt to revolutionize the world, which in the early twentieth century remained anchored in mules and dirty roads.
Henry Ford designed an ingenious production line to assemble the model and was always faithful to his idea of building "a car for the great multitude". Moreover, we can see how his thoughts were highly focused on car massification in his sayings when talking about Ford Model T:
“...It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for... But it will be low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one...”
Many are the merits of this surprising car affectionately known as “Tin Lizzie” and “Flivver”, so, it is not a surprising fact that in many polls and surveys it was to be chosen the best vehicle of the twentieth century. Model T's great strength and duration enabled it to be extremely efficient in the harsh roads of the first two decades of the twentieth century. The success of the Model T was really huge, as a matter of fact from every two vehicles sold throughout the world, one of them was a Ford Model T. The final production balance of was 15,007,033 units.
