Mustang

The word mustang came originally from Spanish to refer to wild horses in The United States. Today, mustang has become a popular brand name for everything from cars to miniature motorcycles to yachts. In fact, if you were to ask the average American, ‘what is a mustang?’ they would likely refer to the ford mustang car or the mustang miniature motorcycle before a wild horse. It’s amazing when brands replace real words for things like Kleenexes replacing tissues. What’s more amazing is when Microsoft word corrects the spelling of words like Kleenex. The ford mustang car has become a great status symbol in North America. At the moment however, the ford company seems to be in jeopardy and the future of the ford mustang uncertain. After a hundred or so years in the business, Ford’s had its moment in the spotlight.

Ford Mustang

The ford mustang was born in the mid sixties and has been in production since, with more mustang models still to come. Since the first ford mustang, the mustang has been altered and refined with each new model but is still based on the same basic principles of design that the original ford mustang was built on. Today, a ford mustang is a high performance car. The ford mustang has won numerous awards for car of the year and such. If you were to buy a new ford mustang today it would be quite expensive, as would a Classic Mustang.

Classic Mustang

The good news about the Classic Mustang is that if you’re trying to fix up an old Classic Mustang, it’s easier to find some mustang parts than it is to find parts for other classic cars. This is because mustangs are still being manufactured today and some of the mustang parts are still quite similar to what they were many years ago. However, a lot of things have changed with the modern mustang since the Classic mustangs were made. A well-maintained Classic Mustang is a very cool car to have these days. As is a new ford mustang. New ford mustangs would be even better if they looked a little more like the classic ford mustangs. Unfortunately the ford mustang has lost a little of its distinctive style over the years that originally made it so successful. I even joined a Classic Mustang club exclusively for Classic Mustang owners because if you don’t own a Classic Mustang, you’re not a true Classic Mustang enthusiast.

Mustang Parts

If you’re restoring a Classic Mustang, you’ll need to find some mustang parts for the particular model of Classic Mustang that you’re working on. A good way to find cheap Classic Mustang parts is to take them off other Classic Mustangs. You can find other Classic mustangs at Classic Mustang car shows or regular classic car shows. Most worthwhile classic car shows will have at least a couple Classic Mustangs anyway. If you don’t want to take mustang parts from other mustangs, you’re best bet is to look on the internet for someone who sells mustang parts or makes custom Classic Mustang parts. This shouldn’t be too difficult to find as there are a number of mustang parts makers. Just make sure you’re looking at the right kind of mustang parts because there are mustang parts for mustang yachts, mustang miniature motorcycles, as well as ford mustang cars. Personally, if I had the money to buy a new ford mustang, I would rather spend it on an old Classic Mustang and restore it because the Classic Mustang just looks a lot nicer. I’m sure new mustangs are great to drive but they’re just not the same as those original early Classic Mustangs.

Mustang Sally

Who is mustang sally? Everyone knows the song, mustang sally, but does anyone one know what mustang sally was all about? Like the mustang, mustang sally refers to a number of things. The first mention of mustang sally was the mustang sally blues song of 1965, which became hugely popular and is now listed as on of the top 500 songs of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. This mustang sally was inspired by the ford mustang, which had just been released a year earlier. Mustang sally also happens to be the name of an all-girl band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The mustang sally girl band is something like a country western version of the pussycat dolls – lousy music but they’ve got a decent makeup artist. The original mustang sally song by Mack was originally to be called mustang mama, not mustang sally. Aretha Franklin suggested they change the song to mustang sally instead of mustang mama, which seemed to have been for the best. Since the original mustang sally, many artists have covered the mustang sally song. What Mack may have meant by his cryptic mustang sally lyrics, we may never know, but I know when I hear ‘mustang sally, think you better slow your mustang down’, I’ll think of my first ford mustang and how sweet it was riding my ford mustang all around town.
