What is a Dodge Charger?

Although Americans didn’t create the car, they are definitely one of the country’s that have helped build cars to the point where they are the most dominating form of transportation today. We’ve come a long way since a young Detroit entrepreneur applied the concept of assembly line to car production, but Henry Ford would’ve smiled if he could see how beautiful and efficient cars are today.

While there are now more choices than ever for car owners to buy the car that best suits their personality and need, there have been a few cars that have cemented its place as classic vehicles. One such vehicle is the apple of Dodge’s eye, the Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger has been around since 1964 where it made its brash entrance as a roadster style car. Since its initial introduction, the Dodge Chrysler has undergone a number of stylistic renovations that suited its time. As one of the premier vehicles in Dodge’s stable, the Dodge Charger has become an enduring symbol of the toughness of American vehicles.

The 2007 Dodge Charger

When many people look at cars they find that they have to go to somewhere else for an objective point of view. After all, if you ask any car owner about their car, they are going to beam with pride and exaggerate all of the great details about the car. If you ask a salesperson, they are going to gloss over the minor tweaks of the car and accentuate the positive to assist their goal of getting you to buy a car. If you ask a company spokesman about their car, get ready for a speech filled with hyperbole and statements about how this car is the greatest car ever produced. Of course, if you ask a rival company, they are going to exaggerate the negatives of the particular car in order to convince you that actually their company produces the most superior car on the marketplace right now.

For people that are curious about the 2007 dodge charger, all that you need to know is that it is one of the most awarded cars in Dodge history. Its Charger R/T’s 5.7 Liter Hemi V8 engine was chosen as one of the 10 best engines for 2007 by Ward, and Ward also awarded the 2007 dodge charger the best seat system award. In addition to these accolades, respected publishing company Kiplinger awarded the 2007 dodge charger its award as the best new car in 2006 and also distinguished it as being first in safety. Automotive Design felt that the 2007 dodge charger was impressive enough for it to be given the inaugural exterior design award. With its newly styled four door sedan look, Parents AAA felt that the dodge charger was easily the best car for families in 2006. Showcasing its versatility, Spike also awarded the 2007 Dodge Charger as its muscle car of the year.

With so many accolades awarded to it by respected sources, it is easy to see why people are going crazy about the latest incarnation of the Dodge Charger. Considering that it bears the name of a model that has historically been the jewel in Dodge’s crown of cars, many people were curious about how the 2007 Dodge Charger would stack up to its predecessors. The dodge charger was introduced in February 2005 and is influenced by two very prominent cars – the Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Magnum. Eschewing its previous two door sedan look, the 2007 dodge charger has an LX platform that can be found in the Chrsyler 300 and the Dodge Magnum. While its interior is very similar to the Dodge Magnum, the 2007 Dodge Charger has become the main full size sedan vehicle that Dodge has to offer.

Of course, it would be impossible to ignore the multiple models that Dodge offers of its dodge charger vehicle. We will provide an overview of the different 2007 Dodge Chargers that you are able to obtain. Since 2006 until now, the 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T has been wowing its owners. The car sports a retro look and contains black “Hemi” decals that can be found on the rear fender and the hood of the vehicle. The car is available in three different colors – Go Man Go metallic orange, Top Banana yellow, and TorRed. These vintage colors date back to previous models of the Dodge Charger. These rare versions of the Dodge Charger are truly special and the latest incarnation of the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T is also available in Sublime Green and Plum Crazy Purple.

Another exclusive version of the 2007 Dodge Charger is the SRT-8 version. This sleek vehicle draws its power from its deluxe 425 hp version of the 6.1 L Hemi and is equipped with the acclaimed Brembo brakes. Boasting a powerful hemi that can create up to 425 net horsepower, the SRT-8 2007 Dodge Charger is one of the few cars that can say that it has a more powerful hemi than the ones that were found in the muscle car era. To see its power, the SRT-8 can do the amazing trick of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds.

With so much work and pride that Dodge has for its 2007 Dodge Charger model, Dodge has even gone so far to replace its 2005 and 2006 NASCAR entries with ones that are modeled after the Dodge Charger. The rear wheel drive and V8 engine that can be found in its NASCAR version are also the ones that are used in the car’s regular models. Of course, the NASCAR world is so competitive that Dodge has recreated its NASCAR vehicles for the next season to model its latest line of Dodge Avengers.

In another move to help increase the popularity of its latest line of Dodge Chargers, Doge produced a line of 2007 dodge charger police vehicles. The dodge charger police version boasted a number of extra features that can’t be found in regular versions of the car. With its upgraded heavy-duty breaks, police performance-tuned steering and its power 340 horsepower Hemi V8 engine, the dodge charger police vehicle was a big hit.
When tested with other police vehicles, the 2007 dodge charger police cars came out on top. Its excellent use for acceleration, cornering, and braking while pursuing other vehicles has meant that the 2007 dodge charger police vehicle may become a staple on the roads. Currently several police agencies have switched to the 2007 dodge charger police vehicle and this is just another feather in the cap for the 2007 Dodge Charger!

1969 Dodge Charger

Although we’ve examined the many positives of the 2007 dodge charger, it is important to note that the vehicle has had its share of critics. The biggest complaints have focused on Dodge’s decision to abandon the Dodge Charger’s classic two door sedan look for the more family friendly four door sedan look. Many car enthusiasts feel that the true heyday of the Dodge Charger came with the 1969 dodge charger. The 1969 Dodge Charger holds a truly special place in Dodge history. When it was apparent that sales for the 1967 dodge charger, Dodge realized that now was the perfect time to redesign their premium car model. The 1968 dodge charger was truly amazing, boasting a sleek double-diamond design that would later be known as a “coke-bottle” car style. Its flashy design, taillights that echoed the classic Corvette look, and its abandoning of the space-age looking gauges gave the car a strong muscle car look.

The 1968 dodge charger and the 1969 dodge charger would go on to make a major impact on pop culture. A four-speed, triple black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T can be seen in arguably the greatest car chase scene ever captured on film – Steve McQueen’s legendary movie, Bullitt. Although McQueen would drive a Mustang GT during the chase scene and the movie’s villain would be the one driving the 68 dodge charger, everybody on the Bullitt set was impressed by the durability of the Dodge Charger. Whereas McQueen’s Mustang GT stalled up several times due to suspension problems, the Dodge Charger was immortalized for its ability to be driven for jumps over the hills in San Francisco without undergoing a single problem.

The popularity of these late 1960s models of the Dodge Charger continues to this day. The immensely successful Blade trilogy of movies utilized a 1968 Charger R/T to add some style to the movie’s chase scenes and also to give its characters a little bit of dodge charger cool. Another recent movie has also immortalized the 1969 dodge charger. The Dukes of Hazzard movie featured a 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee and was a fantastic way to promote Dodge’s line of classic dodge chargers.

Conclusion

With its long history of being the standard of Dodge excellence and its current rave reviews for its latest model, it’s so hard to see the story of the Dodge Charger ending anytime soon. Enthusiasts for the Dodge Charger can be found throughout the world and many fans have rallied on the Internet to discuss their strong support for this piece of American craftsmanship.
