Cafe Latte Tommy was visiting a coffee shop to try to get some extra work done. He had three essays due and he was wondering whether college was the right thing for him. He always did suffer from moments of doubt when things weren’t going away, but Tommy decided to soldier on. All he needed was one good night of heavy academic work and to do that he would need some coffee. That’s why Tommy found himself at this sophisticated coffee store surrounded by confident coffee lovers. Not really a big coffee fan, Tommy decided to order the drink that the person ahead of him had. Little did Tommy know that the two words he would utter would absolutely change his life around – caffe latte! One sip of this delightful drink and Tommy was in love. Feeling a new wave of happiness and confidence, not only did Tommy finish off a cup of caffe latte, but he also finished off all of his essays. Spurred by his love of this new drink, Tommy went on to finish school and became an accomplished historian. Just think, before he had a caffe latte, Tommy wasn’t sure what he was doing in life. However, with the rejuvenating taste of a caffe latte, Tommy has made something out of himself.
With its seductively sweet taste, the caffe latte can be translated as literally, coffee with milk. While it is quiet similar to the café au lait, there is one important distinction between these two fine drinks. The café au lait is also a simple drink that combines coffee with milk, except the coffee it uses is brewed coffee. This means that the coffee used in the café au lait is generally brewed by using a French Press. For this reason, many coffer lovers prefer the caffe latte beverage, as it utilizes an espresso shot. An espresso or expresso shot refers to a coffee that is brewed by forcing hot water through finely ground coffee beans, preserving more of its flavor. As a result, the caffe latte generally has more kick than the café au lait.
