3 Day Diet

When it comes to the things that people would like to change the most about themselves, the first thing that they usually point to refers to their weight.  While your weight shouldn’t define how you look at yourself, most people wouldn’t mind shedding a few pounds.  After all, the better you look, the better you feel.  For that reason, there are many diets that promise massive weight loss in a short period of time.  One of these diets is the 3 Day Diet.

By limiting your caloric intake and by mixing a variety of specific foods, the 3 Day Diet is known to produce rapid weight loss over the span of three days.  Supporters of the 3 day diet claim that the diet uses a scientific analysis of certain foods to concoct a mix found in the 3 day diet that directly effects your body’s metabolism.  What results is that the chemicals found in the foods in a 3 day diet increases your body’s metabolic rate, which results in your body burning fat at a quicker rate.  As a result, in 3 quick days, you will lose a significant amount of weight.  Some people have claimed to lose 10 pounds by using the 3 Day Diet.

It is important to note that the 3 day diet is not intended to be a long term healthy eating plan.  Proponents of the 3 Day Diet caution that you should go on the 3 Day Diet sporadically.  If you decided that it works for you and want to do another 3 day diet, you should take between four to five days off between 3 Day Diet plans.

When you embark on the 3 day diet, it is important that you drink at least four glasses of water per day.  You may add extra flavoring to your food while you are on the 3 day diet.  The 3 day diet plan goes like this:

On the first day, you should have a cup of black coffee with 1/2 of a grapefruit or a glass of grapefruit juice for breakfast.  Additionally, you should have one piece of toast with some peanut butter.  For lunch, you should eat 1 piece of toast with 1 cup of either black coffee or tea.  It is recommended that you have 1/2 cup of tuna with your toast.  The dinner meal should consist of 3 ounces of any lean meat with 1 cup of green beans and 1 cup of carrots.  To top it off, you can have 1 apple and 1 cup of regular vanilla ice cream.

During the second day of the 3 day diet, your breakfast will consist of: 1 piece of toast, 1 egg, 1/2 of a banana, with one cup of either black tea or sugar.  For lunch, you can eat either 1 cup of cottage cheese or tuna.  To add some flavor, it is recommended that you eat 8 saltine crackers.  The dinner meal should consist of one cup of either broccoli or cabbage with 1/2 cup of carrots to go with 2 beef franks.  You may also have 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream and 1/2 of a banana to go with your dinner meal.

The final day of the 3 day diet has a bit more variety.  For breakfast, you can have your cup of coffee or tea to go along with 5 crackers and one apple.  You may use 1 ounce of cheddar cheese to go with your crackers.  The lunch menu should consist of: a cup of coffee or tea with 1 piece of toast and 1 boiled egg.  For dinner, you should eat one cup of tuna topped with one cup each of carrots cauliflower, and melon.  You can reward yourself with 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream.

While many people have found that they have lost a lot of weight with the 3 day diet, nutritionists and medical experts are skeptical.  Nutritionists worry about the small amount of carbohydrates that a person receives with the 3 day diet.  Additionally, medical experts feel that the weight lost with a 3 day diet isn’t fat but rather water weight.  Although the 3 day diet isn’t recommended by most nutritionists and medical experts, you may find that this diet could be the step you need to a healthy life.
