Paranormal investigation has been prevailing from the later period of the nineteenth century. The paranormal investigation was make easier and more precise due to the creation of the SPR. SPR refers to the Society for Psychical Research. The methods that were utilized in those days while doing any type of investigation with the use of paranormal powers are quite similar to the methods that are applied in the recent ages.

The members that are working at the Society for Psychical Research would conduct various interviews with the witnesses and accumulate necessary information. At that time the investigators did not had any sort of state of the art gadgets such as the EVP recordings, EMF detectors and other similar devices that are used by the modern paranormal investigators. However, nowadays the modern paranormal investigators have various sorts of chic and up to the minute gadgets and ghost hunting apparatus. These devices have made their work quiet uncomplicated.

The foremost man to utilize a technological device for solving a case related to paranormal science was a member of the Society for Psychical Research. That person was Harry Price. He used that device during the year 1920. He used this device to investigate about ghosts. Basically he used cameras that were inclusive of films in order to capture the snaps of the ghouls. In the year 1959, a new step was taken in the advancement of contemporary paranormal investigations. The Electronic Voice Phenomena was invented by the Fredrich Gurgenson. He invented this device while he was recording the songs of birds. The Electronic Voice Phenomena is casually said as the EVP. Fredrich Gurgenson wrote many books also on the EVP device. This book was named as ‘voices from the universe’ by him. Because of this advanced discovery made by the Fredrich Gurgenson, a lot of books, organizations and websites are now committed towards that phenomena of audio. 

During the period of the 1980’s, some new inventions took place that makes the paranormal investigation more advanced. During this period, a film name as  ‘Ghost Buster’ was released that showed various ghost hunters using technologically advanced equipments in order to catch ghosts. This inspired a lot of investigators to use modern apparatus during their investigations. They also understood the fact that the modern devices are very useful in detection of various paranormal forces. This is also a fact that the ghost could be detected with the aid of the EMF detectors.  

The aforementioned discoveries and inventions led the modernization of the paranormal investigations that benefit us in the modern days.
